AmiNET125 and AmiNET130 Set Top Boxes gain Minerva certification

Amino Communications (London AIM: AMO), the world leading IPTV platform supplier, is pleased to confirm that both its AmiNET125 and AmiNET130 Set-Top Box products (“STB”) have been certified by Minerva Networks: a leading provider of open-platform carrier class solutions for the delivery of broadband television services.

The AmiNET125, a standard definition multi-codec STB designed for IPTV and Internet TV applications today joins the AmiNET130, which offers service providers a cost-effective means to deliver end-to-end digital HD TV, in successfully completing Minerva’s rigorous lab and field trials. Both boxes are now deemed fully compatible with Minerva’s iTVManager 3.x platform, the market leading middleware in the North American Tier 3 Telco market.

iTVManager, deployed by over 120 operators worldwide, is a comprehensive software solution for the delivery and management of a broad set of television services, including high-definition TV (HDTV), digital video recording (DVR), video-on-demand (VOD), music, games, and communication applications.

“The certification process ensures that high-quality products, like the AmiNET125 and AmiNET130, can easily be integrated with our platform,” said Jean-Georges Fritsch, Chief Operating Officer for Minerva Networks. “Operators can deploy IPTV services with confidence, knowing that leading providers of IPTV set-top boxes and middleware have worked together to deliver fully tested, carrier-class solutions.”

“This dual certification is another feather in the cap of our developers and speaks to the quality and reliability of our AmiNET family of products,” said Andrew Burke, Amino Chief Executive Officer. “Distributers and operators of these Amino Set Top Boxes can be confident that their customers will have access to a robust, reliable and content-rich IPTV experience: something we take great pride in as pioneer in the IPTV arena.”
