Fujitsu presents comprehensive range of digital broadcasting and set-top box solutions at IBC 2008Friday, September 12th, 2008
Come and meet Fujitsu on Stand 4.B75
LANGEN, Germany — Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) is exhibiting its range of solutions for the broadcast and set-top box (STB) markets for the first time at this weeks IBC exhibition, at the RAI, Amsterdam.
Fujitsu has selected IBC 2008 to launch its new decoder device, the MB86H70. Demonstrations of its MB86H60 HD multi-standard decoder and its MB86H52 HD H.264 transcoder are also taking place on the stand.
The MB86H70 HD iDTV Decoder
This is a highly integrated SoC incorporating all the processing functions required by digital HDTV receivers particularly for integrated digital TV sets, including those for digital video, audio and graphics. It contains Fujitsu’s original high quality picture engine for realising reality motion pictures.
The MB86H70 is an HD media processor able to decode both MPEG-2 and H.264 / AVC compressed video up to full HD resolution (1920 x 1080i) for DVB TVs.
The MB86H60 HD Multi-Standard Decoder
The MB86H60 is a highly integrated system-on-chip incorporating the necessary processing functions required by digital HDTV receivers, including those for digital video, audio and graphics – making it ideal for HD set-top boxes and portable receivers.
|Set-top Box Software
Looking for set-top box software for Fujitsu ICs?
This device can decode both MPEG-2 and H.264 compressed video up to full HD resolution (1920 x 1080i) and thus delivers a complete solution for new satellite, terrestrial and cable HDTV receivers. In addition, the flexible audio processor can decode a wide variety of audio standards required by the broadcast market.
The MB86H52 HD H.264 Transcoder
Fujitsu’s MB86H52 is capable of compressing full HD (1920 x 1080) MPEG-2 video data to H.264 while maintaining video quality. This high compression makes it ideal for use in recording equipment, where recording time can be increased by 2 to 5 times.
The MB86H52 includes a full HD H.264 CODEC (COde/DECode) for video encoding and decoding, so that uncompressed video data can be compressed to the H.264 format, while the device can also decompress video data from compressed or transcoded H.264.
Fujitsu develops and supports a comprehensive suite of products for digital STBs and Digital Televisions. Its families of MPEG Decoder, Encoder and Transcoder offer cost-effective and high performance solutions for both SD and HD applications. IBC, an event created for everyone involved in the design, management and delivery of content for the entertainment industry, provides the ideal meeting place to demonstrate these solutions.
Members of Fujitsu’s technical, marketing and sales-support teams are available on the stand to answer your questions and talk you through the demonstrations.
