Rubberduck Media Lab AS, a subsidiary of Aspiro AB (Stockholm: ASP) and a leading provider of mobile TV hosting and managed services for network operators and broadcasters worldwide has launched a comprehensive mobile TV service in Denmark for Sonofon A/S.

Through this agreement, Rubberduck will deliver and manage Sonofon’s new mobile TV portal, providing live news and entertainment content using the 3G network. The service will include programming from popular channels such as DR1, DR2, TV 2, Disney Channel, MTV, BBC World and Discovery Channel.

The service will be developed using Studio:1, Rubberduck’s end-to-end mobile TV platform used today by leading mobile TV services around the world. With Sonofon, Rubberduck is now providing managed solutions for seven mobile network operators across the world, and counts several more broadcasters and service providers in its customer portfolio.

“We are excited about working with Rubberduck Media Lab on launching quality mobile TV in Denmark. They have demonstrated the ability to leverage insights, innovation and technology across borders in both the partnership with Sonofon in Denmark and with our sister company in Norway, Telenor ASA. We believe these are key assets to succeed in a very competitive and challenging market,” says Martin Blædel, Head of Consumer Mobile at Sonofon.

“Sonofon’s recognition for our Mobile TV services is an extensive compliment to the work we do in this industry and we now hold strong positions in all the Scandinavian countries. We are delighted to be their preferred partner and look forward to providing them with a service that will entertain and bring joy to their customers,” said Ola Svartberg, CEO of Rubberduck Media Lab.
