ADB'S New IPTV STB to Support Minerva's iTVManager Platform

GENEVA, Switzerland and CHICAGO, USA — Advanced Digital Broadcast (SWX:ADBN), a leading supplier of digital TV systems and software solutions for interactive television, announced its ADB-2500W advanced standard definition (SD) IPTV set-top box’ certification with Minerva Networks’ iTVManager 3.2 middleware platform. Consequently, the ADB-2500W is now fully supporting the entire Minerva ecosystem, which includes iTVManager versions 2.1, 3.1 and 3.2.

The ADB-2500W offers operators an MPEG-2/MPEG-4 Standard Definition (SD) product and will also support whole home DVR via DLNA®. The STB is also compatible with the industry’s leading conditional access/digital rights management (DRM) and VOD systems.

The ADB-2500W is an advanced, interactive, digital set-top box optimized for IP-based telecommunications networks. The box is compatible with standard definition (SD) television transmissions across all industry standard compressions, including MPEG-2 and H.264 Advanced Video Coding (AVC), allowing operators to optimize their broadcast bandwidth. It also includes Ethernet and USB 2.0 interfaces.

The product boasts the latest system on chip microprocessor providing performance enhancements such as fast channel change and rapid rendering of applications such as an electronic Program Guide (EPG). The unit is also compatible with the industry’s leading conditional access and digital rights management (DRM).
