Hathway Becomes the First Indian Digital Cable Service Provider to Launch DVR Services based on NDS XTV™ DVR Technology

MUMBAI, INDIA — NDS Group, the leading provider of technology solutions for digital pay-TV, today announced that Hathway, the leading digital cable provider in India, has launched its ground-breaking Digital Box PLUS DVR solution, based on NDS XTV™ DVR technology. The new DVR solution will enable subscribers to take control over what they watch and when they watch it.

The NDS XTV™ DVR solution gives Hathway subscribers the ability to record one television channel while viewing another one. Subscribers can now pause, record, play back, rewind and fast forward recorded content for viewing when they choose. With NDS XTV DVR, Hathway delivers a compelling variety of content and on-demand digital television to viewers, and is well positioned to offer additional, advanced, next generation solutions in the future.

Hathway has a history of firsts in the Indian cable TV market. It was the first cable operator to move to digital, the first to implement a middleware solution and customised electronic program guide (EPG), and is now the first to launch a DVR solution.
