IPTV subscribers to reach 1.2 million in Germany this year
Wednesday, June 17th, 2009BERLIN — BITKOM, the voice of the information technology, telecommunications, and new media industry in Germany, expects the number of IPTV subscribers in Germany to reach 1.5 million at the end of 2010, up from 1.2 million at the end of this year.
IPTV began in Germany three years ago with services now from Deutsche Telekom, HanseNet/Alice and Arcor. Subscription numbers grew steadily with 180,000 IPTV users at end-2007 and 536,000 at the close of 2008.
