O2 Ireland launches 'O2 TV' mobile TV

DUBLIN — O2 (Madrid and NYSE: TEF) today announced that it has launched a new mobile TV service. Called “O2 TV”, it offers customers the choice of two mobile TV packages at some of the most competitive rates on the market in Ireland. The “O2 Lifestyle Pack” offers the best in entertainment, music, and news with channels including RTE News Now, CNN and the Travel Channel, while the “Sky Sports & News Pack” offers live sports and news content on channels including Sky Sports 1, 2 & 3 and Sky News.
“O2 TV” uses streaming technology and is available on a wide range of 3G/HSDPA capable handsets*.
In conjunction with the launch, O2 is offering a free 30-day promotional period to customers that sign up before September 9th, 2009. Thereafter the service is available to prepay and postpay customers for only €1 for a 24 hour pass. Alternatively customers can avail of a 30 day pass which costs €5 for the “O2 Lifestyle Pack” and €6 for the “Sky Sports & News Pack”.
