iWedia, the international provider of software components and solutions for connected Consumer Electronics devices, today announced it will be presenting its latest developments at IBC ’11 in Amsterdam from September 9th through 13th.

iWedia will be showcasing its turnkey software solution for hybrid set-top boxes. The solution gathers a WebKit-based HbbTV engine integrated with a full featured HD DVB stack (Comedia) and a DLNA 1.5 compliant Digital Media Player. It will soon give support to the French TNT 2.0 specification (which includes a selection of DRM systems) expected to be commercially launched April next year.

A turnkey software solution for Pay TV digital converters is also showcased, integrated with a Conditional Access System (CAS) kernel, and powering a variety of one-way cable, satellite, and terrestrial zappers.

CI Plus V1.3, which will be the reference release starting from August next year, is another subject on which iWedia has anticipated and is ready to provide both the host software and the MHEG-5 based browser (including support for HD graphics).

iWedia will also take the opportunity of IBC to update the market on a key initiative it has recently launched. Called “Android4TV”, it gathers major partners with the aim of issuing an open specification for the support of live digital TV within the Android framework.
