Connected TV sales booming in Europe

According to Germany’s Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM), connected TV sales in Europe are booming, with the number of sets sold this year expected to be up 68% on 2011 at 19.1 million units. Over one third of TVs sold (37%) are now internet enabled.
By far the single largest market is Germany, with connected TV sales this year expected to reach 4.6 million units, a 36 percent increase over the previous year. In Germany, 46% of TVs sold are internet-enabled.
