DDB Smart TV technology platform launched in India

The DDB Foundation has launched its Digital Direct Broadcast (DDB) technology platform in India. DDB-enabled televisions are able to: receive digital signals without the need of a set-top box; work on and save files in the Cloud; browse websites such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter; and, convert 2D channels into 3D quality.
The DDB foundation is a collaboration between seven technology companies under the leadership of STMicroelectronics. The other partners are Irdeto, Nivio, Faroudja, Strata, Philips and Videocon d2h.
