Digital TV in 76% of Dutch households

According to the first half 2012 Media Standard Survey (MSS) produced by TNS-NIPO for Stichting KijkOnderzoek (SKO), the primary provider of official television audience ratings in the Netherlands, digital television is now in 76% of Dutch households, up from 73% in the second half of 2011.
50% of households receive digital TV on at least one television via cable, 12% via DVB-T and 6% have satellite, figures unchanged from H2 2011. Seven percent of households have an IPTV connection, with TV over fibre in 4% of households, both up 2% versus last year.
In the case of hardware, 39% of households have a hard disk recorder connected to one or more of their TVs, up from 36% in the second half of 2011. For 19% of Dutch households the hard disk recorder is in a set-top box (16% last year) and 20% have a DVD player with an integrated HDD.
