SEPTEMBER 8, 2006 – 27M Technologies and Strategy & Technology announced today the availability of a fully-integrated digital receiver software solution which incorporates S&T Client System Redkey™ MHEG 5 solution for the UK Freeview market. The solution is suitable for integrated digital televisions as well as set-top boxes and personal video recorders (PVRs).

Redkey™ is the first MHEG 5 engine to be fully compliant with the 1.06 profile for MHEG in the UK. Compliance with this specification will be a pre-requisite for the use of the “Digital Tick” logo from the 1st of September 2006.

The “Digital Tick” logo is used to certify that a product will provide access to digital equivalents of analogue television services that are to be withdrawn at digital switchover. There is an increasing awareness in the UK regarding the scheme which has been adopted by many retailers as a minimum commercial requirement for DTT receivers offered for sale. The 27M Software Stack is a complete, modular and portable software stack, including SI/PSI engine, TV- channel table, service selection, tuning, EIT cache, EPG, user interface toolkit as well as various user interface components.
