A turnkey solution targeted at integrated Digital TVs
SEPTEMBER 9, 2006 – IWEDIA TECHNOLOGIES, the international provider of embedded software solutions for digital television devices, today announced the availability of a turnkey Digital TV solution in partnership with Genesis Microchip, a world leader in the development of image processing technologies for flat-panel TVs, monitors, and other consumer display products.
The solution combines IWEDIA's robust and production-proven COMEDIA DVB middleware and the Genesis PurVIEW HD™ 500 (gm10500) High Definition and Standard Definition digital television decoder, paired with any of Genesis's Cortez family video processors to provide best-in-breed television and video performance.
"The result of the pre-integration of COMEDIA DVB middleware with the PurVIEW HD™ 500 controller is a turnkey solution targeted at worldwide integrated Digital TV manufacturers, offering cost-effectiveness, high video quality and rapid time-to-market," said Neil Mitchell, vice president of Marketing, DTV Business, Genesis Microchip.
"The digital terrestrial television market in Europe is gradually moving from Set-Top Boxes to integrated Digital TVs," said Patrice Birot, vice president of Sales, IWEDIA. "Our joint solution with Genesis Microchip has been designed to respond to this trend, enabling WXGA and 1080P digital display solutions to enter the market quickly with as few additional resources as possible."
The solution will be showcased at IBC `06 in Amsterdam, from September 8th through 12th, on stand 4.358.
