The Company Will Supply Data For Its IPGs in the Italian Market with Bandwidth Provided by TI Media Broadcasting

SEPTEMBER 21, 2006 - Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc. (NASDAQ:GMST), a leading media, entertainment and technology company, recently executed a commercial agreement with TI Media Broadcasting, one of Italy's foremost technology companies. The agreement calls for TI Media to supply both analogue and digital bandwidth for Gemstar-TV Guide's Interactive Program Guides (IPGs) in the Italian market.

This agreement allows Gemstar-TV Guide to supply data to its GUIDE Plus+® IPG incorporated into digital terrestrial recorders and televisions from leading brands including Panasonic, Philips, Sony, Pioneer, JVC and Sharp in Italy. The release of Gemstar-TV Guide's digital service in Italy will complement the analogue service that was released earlier this year.

Gemstar-TV Guide's VCR+ technology is known as ShowView® in Italy.
