ITU Region-1 DTT switchover deadline passes
Jun 17, 2015 – The deadline for the switchover from analogue to digital television has passed for 119 countries belonging to ITU Region-1 (Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia) and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

ITU symposium to mark switchover from analogue to digital TV

Broadband Forum promotes G.fast for Ultra HD broadband access

Television now 55% digital as analogue broadcasting switch-off advances worldwide

Africa set to deploy digital television

ITU-IEC produces metadata standard for cross-platform IPTV
May 16, 2013 – Cooperation between ITU and the IEC has produced a metadata standard to enable rights information interoperability in IPTV services. The standard provides a framework for communicating data to ensure that multimedia content can be shared legally across different platforms.

ITU gives first-stage approval to H.265 video coding standard
