Bouygues Telecom replaces set-top box with Smart TV app
May 28, 2020 – Bouygues Telecom has launched Bbox Smart TV. With Bbox Smart TV, the TV decoder disappears and is replaced with an app called B.TV+, which is exclusively pre-installed in a Samsung Smart TV, giving access to a large catalogue of TV services.

Four media measurement bodies form global alliance

9.5 million watching online and catch-up TV daily in France

VOD and SVOD services take root in France
Mar 13, 2018 – According to Médiamétrie, almost 2 out of 5 French internet users have already used VOD or SVOD services, a steady increase. Over the last 12 months, 13% of the population indicated they had rented at least one video, and 20% have used an SVOD service.

Over half of French web users enrich their TV experience via another screen
Jan 4, 2018 – According to Médiamétrie, there are now more and more screens but each is quite different. Each home has an average of 6.4 screens. The television set is the preferred screen on the whole (91%), followed by the computer (55%).

Nearly 5 million in France watch TV on a second screen each day
Nov 23, 2017 – Every day in France 4.9 million individuals aged 4 and over watch TV programmes live or as catch up on internet screens. Last year, they were 3.9 million, according to the previous edition of Médiamétrie’s Global TV survey.
