EMTEK deploys ENENSYS DVB-T2 distribution system in Indonesia

EMTEK selects complete ENENSYS solution for Indonesia DVB-T2 network deployment

RENNES — ENENSYS Technologies, a leading provider of media delivery solutions has announced that it has delivered a complete distribution solution for EMTEK’s new DVB-T2 digital terrestrial TV network. The first phase with coverage Jakarta and other major cities went on-air in late 2022, with the second phase to provide services throughout Indonesia completed in 2024.

The solution supplied includes:

• Fully redundant ‘SmartGate vT2’ software-based network adapters at 5 regional head-ends
• A fully redundant ‘OneBeam’ T2 distribution system that has enabled EMTEK to make use of their existing satellite DTH system to feed new DTT transmitters across Indonesia.
• Backup distribution over IP links to major transmitter sites
• Seamless switching between main and backup feeds
• TestTree EdgeProbe Advanced probes for monitoring transmitter sites

The system has been supplied through PT Digital Broadcast Media, the Indonesian systems integrator and reseller of ENENSYS, after extensive testing by the EMTEK and SCTV teams.

ENENSYS’ OneBeam T2 solution enables DVB-T2 transmitters to be fed using standard transport stream distribution over satellite or IP networks. Adaption from transport stream to T2-MI is performed at transmitter sites with the ENENSYS TxEdge. The DVB-T2 transmitter configuration and SFN timing are controlled with ENENSYS SmartGate OneBeam units at the head-end.

The system is fully redundant and ENENSYS ASIIPGuard and IPGuard seamless switches are used for main/backup switching.

TestTree EdgeProbe Advanced monitoring probes are used at some transmitter sites to monitor both the T2-MI input as well as the transmitter RF output.
