Global TV Technology Provider Joins Fellow Innovators at Cable’s Premier Event
CHICAGO, IL — The Cable Show 2011 — S3 Group, a global provider of technology, solutions and services for the digital TV market, today announced its participation in the CableNET® 2011 technology showcase at The Cable Show 2011 in Chicago, June 14-16. The company will show its leading StormTest™ Development Center automated set-top box (STB) testing solution, which offers service providers an efficient and effective route to developing and validating content delivery platforms.
At The Cable Show 2011, S3 Group will test interactive applications, specifically those that support and validate EBIF™ specifications for interactive TV. Visitors will see StormTest Development Center in action as it is triggered by the presence of applications in the broadcast stream. With this approach, operators and service providers have the ability to conduct testing as the application is seen on air — allowing real-time confirmation of applications running correctly across the platform. S3 Group will also demonstrate its user interface for test creation which allows non-programmers to easily develop their own automated tests, along with a testing station for up to four STBs simultaneously.
“The emergence and adoption of interactive TV applications and specifications such as EBIF and tru2way® presents the cable industry with a variety of testing challenges, especially on multi-platforms,” said John O’Brien, CEO of S3 Group. “At The Cable Show, S3 Group will display efficient, cost-effective and widely deployed solutions that take those challenges and turn them into opportunities for operators by ensuring that the testing is accurate and reliable — no matter the platform. We hear this request from our many global customers, especially those in the North American market, and we look forward to sharing our solution with them in Chicago and later this summer at the CableLabs® Summer Conference.”
The CableNET industry exhibit at The Cable Show 2011 is co-sponsored by CableLabs and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA). Its goal is to display the most innovative content, services, and applications of today and tomorrow.
