The Euskaltel Group reaches agreement with Netflix

  • Euskaltel, R and Telecable customers will be able to seamlessly access Netflix’s popular TV series, films and documentaries directly via the eligible 4K decoder as of next year
  • The Euskaltel Group will be the first operator in Spain to offer its customers a remote control that features a Netflix button
  • Euskaltel, R and Telecable all feature at the top of Netflix’s monthly ISP index since October 2016.

BILBAO — The Euskaltel Group, comprising Euskaltel, R and Telecable, has signed an agreement with Netflix enabling the operator’s TV customers to easily access Netflix content by directly using their 4K decoder. The Euskaltel Group will be the first operator in Spain to offer its customers a remote control that features a Netflix button, enabling viewers to access Netflix content with a simple click.

Throughout 2018, Euskaltel Group customers who sign up for the 4K decoder will be able to enjoy critically-acclaimed TV series, films, stand-up comedies, children’s programmes and documentaries offered by Netflix in Spain including popular shows like Las Chicas del Cable, Stranger Things, Narcos, 13 Reasons Why. Upcoming Netflix original films include the highly-awaited Bright, starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton.

Connection speed and image quality

The most popular content on Netflix will form a part of Euskaltel’s new 4K decoder offering thanks to the leading Group in northern Spain’s network capacity, which guarantees the fastest connection speed and the highest image quality. Euskaltel, R and Telecable lead the rankings published by Netflix every month regarding the quality of the top providers streaming content during prime time in Spain.

The 4K decoder will bring the world’s leading Internet entertainment service to television but also mobile phones and tablets. his decoder offers all Euskaltel customers the latest 4K technology, which is twice the definition of HD.

The 4K decoder represents Euskaltel TV’s natural development, continuously incorporating innovative functionalities and services over the last few years so that all users can enjoy the television’s new uses: services such as Replay (programmes can be watched from the beginning, even though they’ve already started), Replayteka (over 7,000 free films, series and programmes and new film releases on subscription), Te lo perdiste (Euskaltel saves programmes for seven days so that you can revisit and watch them) and search and record options as well.
