VNPT launches 'MyTV' IPTV in VietnamMonday, September 28th, 2009
The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) officially introduces MyTV service today in Hanoi, it’s evaluated to be the heavy-weight competitor of available Pay TV services in Vietnam at this time.
My TV is the television service bases on the IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) technology provided by Vietnam Software and Communications Company (VASC) under VNPT, for which the TV signal is changed to IP signal and transmitted through the VNPT’s ADSL infrastructure network to the STB (set-top-box) subscriber’s terminal .
The development process of television services such as: satellite TV, cable TV, digital TV and especially the HDTV (High Identified TV) has made the remarkable milestone in the history of television industry development. Currently, with the appearance of IPTV, it’s seen to be the revolution of television communication.
IPTV is the 3G television technology (after the Analog TV and Digital TV) which supported by the broadband network and forecasted being the big change in telecom industry with convergence of telecom, television and interactive entertainment services in Vietnam and around the world.
MyTV is able to provide multi services such as TV Broadcasting, Audio Channel, Time-Shift TV and especially the services on demand as Video on Demand, Music on Demand, TV on Demand, game, karaoke, T-Information, T-Marketing”¦
It is the ideal time to provide the service and with an aim to bring the best quality and content to the customers, VNPT has upgraded thoroughly its network infrastructure , chose the most advanced technology and set up the diversified content warehouse with license, Chairman of VNPT Board of Management Pham Long Tran quoted as saying.
