Kenya invites supply of MPEG-4 set-top boxes
Friday, October 2nd, 2009The full migration frm analogue to digital terrestrial broadcasting in Kenya is expected to be realized by 2012. The digital television signal will be introduced in the country soon. It will be available in Nairobi and its environs from 20th October 2009.
Digital Kenya has issued guidelines on the minumum specifications for set-top boxes as well as the standard of transmission. Tha adopted digital television transmission standard is DVB-T and the compression standard is MPEG-4.
Digital Kenya wishes to inform interested suppliers of the opportunity to supply DVB-T MPEG-4 set-top boxes in the country.
