Digital TV launches in Peru
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010LIMA — Digital terrestrial television (DTT) using the Japanese ISDB-T format has launched in Peru. The service initially covers the capital, Lima, and the nearby port of Callao.
The advent of digital terrestrial television was made possible through a cooperation agreement signed between the governments of Peru and Japan. Japan donated four million dollars for the purchase of transmitters and equipment.
