Designed to Eliminate the Need to Add New Cables in the Walls or Extra Black Boxes Next to the TV, Wi3’s First of Its Kind Product Was Introduced at CES 2011 in Las Vegas

ROCHESTER, NY — Wi3, Inc. — Combining the MoCA IPTV/SmartTV standard, the WiFi Direct spec, and a patented in-wall wallport design, Wi3 is set to solve the problem existing in homes today of delivering Internet services to TVs.

Solutions today include standalone devices such as WiFi Access Points and Ethernet over Powerline units. However, these solutions are limited in delivering the reliable high bandwidth connections that are absolutely required for video streaming services such as NetFlix, Hulu and Apple TV. The Wi3 solution is a true built-in network solution that combines hardwired Ethernet (over Coax) and WiFi to deliver the best possible signal levels for all consumer connected devices throughout the home.

Partnering with Entropic Communications, Wi3 demonstrated the Wi3Port for the first time in Entropic’s booth at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas.

“Your Home Network can’t be just good,” said Bill Thompson, CEO of Wi3, Inc., “it has to be great. With our patented delivery of multiple media signals over existing coax networks in the home, we are poised to change the face of home networking and facilitate the growth of IPTV / SmartTV around the world.”

Expecting to ship product in April of 2011, Wi3 looks forward to providing the solid MoCA Ethernet over coax solution to Low Voltage Contractors, CEDIA Professionals, and Retailers in support of IPTV.
