Pay-TV Accounts to Surpass 1 Billion in 2014
Thursday, May 31st, 2012CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts — Pyramid Research expects that pay TV accounts will surpass the 1 billion mark in 2014 globally, with cable accounting for 58 percent of the total accounts, down from 66 percent in 2011, according to Pyramid Research’s bi-annual Media Forecast released recently. By end-2014, IPTV subscriptions will exceed 100 million, and IPTV over fiber networks is expected to contribute a larger share of the total IPTV subscriptions in 2017.
