LAUSANNE, Switzerland — iWedia today announced that it has released a dedicated edition of its Teatro-3.0 software solution targeted at Linux operated, SAT>IP based headless broadcast gateways.
“Teatro-3.0 SAT>IP Edition” seamlessly integrates in one turnkey software solution all the broadcast and connectivity components necessary for the redistribution of DVB signals over an IP-based multimedia home network.
This specific edition of Teatro-3.0 manages a collection of DVB tuners and serves live DVB content to client devices in compliance with the SAT>IP protocol.
The DVB signal is integrally transmitted (including EPG data, multiple audio tracks, subtitles, Teletext, MHEG-5, HbbTV) to deliver a complete TV experience.
In a Pay TV environment, CI Plus and DTCP-IP (source) are used to operate a Conditional Access System (CAS) to Digital Rights Management (DRM) system conversion.
“Today, live TV shall be accessible from any screen in the house,” said Nikola Smiljković, Product Manager at iWedia. “We believe SAT>IP is an excellent multi-screen solution because it guarantees a complete TV experience to the user as all the components of the TV signal are transmitted”. “In that edition of Teatro-3.0 we have implemented a scalable SAT>IP server able to simultaneously serve several client devices with multiple streams e.g. for Picture in Picture use cases,” he added.
