Unitymedia KabelBW to deploy Horizon gateway from September 4th

COLOGNE — Germany’s Unitymedia KabelBW has announced that parent company Liberty Global’s Horizon TV and media platform will be available on its cable network from the 4th of September 2013. Initially the gateway will be available in Hesse and North-Rhine Westphalia, with Baden-Württemberg being added at a later date.
The Horizon platform combines an HD recorder with a cable modem and wireless router to act as a home gateway, allowing TV be to viewed on mobile devices in the home as well as on the main television. A multiroom client is planned to allow viewing on second and third TVs.
