Additional Strategic and Institutional Resources Solidifies Growth Plans

SAN DIEGO — Verimatrix, setting the standard in content security technologies that enhance the value of pay-TV networks, today announced JK&B Capital has joined with Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) and SunAmerica Ventures in its Series C round of funding. The additional resources add to the business expansion and accelerated deployment of Verimatrix’s 3-Dimensional Content Security solutions into the rapidly-evolving hybrid, cable and satellite markets around the world.

JK&B Capital is a venture capital firm focused on the software, IT and communications markets with more than $1.1 billion of capital under management. A key to JK&B’s success has been its ability to leverage its substantial technology domain expertise to identify, analyze and access the most promising emerging technologies and the companies behind them. JK&B then provides these companies with financial support, strategic guidance and most importantly technical guidance to help them grow and prosper.

“Verimatrix has demonstrated a novel and commercially successful contribution to the global business of pay-TV,” stated Ali Shadman, partner at JK&B Capital. “The company is well positioned to take full advantage of the trends towards hybrid networks and software-based security systems in the coming years.”

Ted Alexander, partner at Mission Ventures commented further, “We are extremely pleased with the performance of the Verimatrix team. Mission has participated in every one of the company’s venture funding rounds and the company’s performance has resulted in an increased valuation in each round. The fact that this round was oversubscribed, despite turbulent financial markets, is further validation that the pay-TV market is in transition and ready to adopt new, disruptive technologies.”

Verimatrix had already announced participation of Goldman Sachs and SunAmerica Ventures in its Series C investment round. Verimatrix’s suite of VCAS solutions offers a layered content security system that enables transparent delivery of content to multiple screens across different networks.

Revolution Partners acted as financial advisor to Verimatrix in its funding round.
