Israel DTT launch set for July 2009
Thursday, January 15th, 2009The launch of DTT services in Israel is due to take place in July 2009 using MPEG-4 AVC compression. Analogue switch-off is planned to be completed by the end of 2010.
There will be one multiplex of 5 channels (IBA 1, IBA 33, Channel 2, Channel 10 and The Knesset Channel), broadcast free-to-air (FTA).
All set-top boxes are required to be HDTV-compatible though the service is initially in SD only.
