Belarus completes switch to digital television

The Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus (Minsvyazi) has announced that the country has completed its transition to digital TV broadcasting.
The process began on August 1, 2013 with the switching off of the analogue transmitter at Osipovichi. Since then analogue transmitters in a further 32 locations have been decommissioned. On May 15, 2015, the final 10 transmitters were switched off.
Belarus broadcasts according to the DVB-T2 standard with MPEG-4 compression.
