Peru proposes ISDB STB manufacturing hub

The Deputy Minister of Communications of Peru is seeking to make the city of Tacna, with its Free Trade Zone (Zona Franca de Tacna – ZOFRATACNA), into an industrial centre for ISDB set-top boxes.

The objective would be to develop and manufacture boxes for supply to any of the countries in the region that have adopted the Japanese-Brazilian (SBTVD/ISDB-Tb) digital television standard.
