High Definition applications for Amino IPTV set-top-box

Amsterdam, IBC — Accedo Broadband today announced that a range of its interactive services have been integrated with the AmiNET130 IPTV Set-top-box (STB) from Amino Communications (Amino).

Accedo Broadband, a leading aggregator and distributor of interactive applications and content, will be supplying applications from its Accedo Application Portfolio™, including games, karaoke and video art. Amino’s AmiNET™ series of IPTV set-top boxes (STBs) has been used in commercial deployments and trials in over 80 countries worldwide.

“We believe that High Definition services will be an important driver for the future IPTV market. We are pleased to be working with Amino to create a set of interactive entertainment services that can help telecom operators in their quest for service differentiation and incremental revenue” commented Fredrik Andersson, VP Business Development, Accedo Broadband. “The integration process with AmiNET130 has been very smooth and we will continue to add additional services to our HD line-up for Amino.”

“Amino is keen to promote the broad IP capabilities of its products, and our relationship with Accedo is an ideal vehicle for this. The Accedo Application Portfolio™, based on standard web technology and including the first IPTV games to use HD graphics, provides a perfect example of the extended service and revenue possibilities created by IPTV” said Roy Kirsopp, VP & General Manager at Amino.

Visitors to the IBC show in Amsterdam will be able to see demonstrations of this service on the Accedo Broadband stand (#126 in the IPTV Zone), as well as the Amino Communications stand #4.240.
