Northport middleware integrated in Tilgin IPTV set-top boxes
Monday, September 3rd, 2007Cooperation between Tilgin, a technology leader of Customer Premises Equipment for triple play and IMS solutions, and IPTV company Northport, has resulted in integration of Northport’s innovative open TVnetwork middleware, Modulution™, in Tilgin’s IPTV set-top box program.
“We are very pleased with the Northport cooperation and integration with our IPTV set-top boxes. Middleware integration is a very important component in today’s IPTV solutions. Together we offer a very strong solution for open network broadband solutions in Sweden”, says Ola Berglund CEO at Tilgin.
The cooperation is a step towards the certification of Tilgin’s set-top boxes in the Base Box Environment, the Swedish standardisation by the Open Net Broadband-TV working group for an environment of TV-based services in an open, competition neutral environment. It also means that Tilgin and Northport can work together with vertical net communication operators.
“This cooperation is important for Northport and forms the base for the strategic work towards creating wider support for set-top boxes in our middleware for open TV-networks, Modulution™. Tilgin is a respected major player in the set-top box market, and we are happy to have them as our partner, giving us an additional set-top box supplier in the open TV-networks”, says Northport AB CEO Lars-Thomas Rasmussen.
