OTE selects Pirelli Broadband as IPTV Set Top Box supplier

MILAN, Italy — Pirelli Broadband Solutions, a leading supplier of IP Set Top Boxes and Customer Premises Equipment for the connected home and office, today announced it has been selected by the OTE Group (ASE: HTO, NYSE: OTE), the leading telecommunications service provider in Greece, to supply its P.VU2000 High Definition IPTV and P.VU2600 High Definition PVR Set Top Boxes for OTE’s Conn-x TV IPTV service.

Pirelli’s P.VU2000 and P.VU2600 are a state of the art IPTV Set Top Box supporting HDTV, H.264 decoding and TR-069 remote manageability and video recording services. For OTE’s Conn-x TV service, the P.VU2000 and P.VU2600 support the SecureMedia Conditional Access System and interoperates with the Ericsson’s MAS IPTV platform. The P.VU2000 ad P.VU2600 are part of a family of modular Set Top Boxes which comprises hybrid DVB-T / IPTV and optional capabilities such as Personal Video Recording, embedded wireless connectivity, media sharing.
