Connected TVs booming in Germany
Thursday, April 8th, 2010BERLIN — In the past year, according to a survey by the GfK, 550,000 TV sets with built-in web access were sold in Germany. In 2010, based on calculations by BITKOM, that number will be around 2 million units – nearly a quadrupling of sales. This means that more than one in five of the flat-screen TVs sold will be internet connected.
Sales of hybrid TVs are expected to double again in 2011 to around 4 million units.
