Entone, Inc., a leading provider of Hybrid TV solutions, today announced that South Central Rural Telephone Coop has selected Entone’s award-winning Hydra™ IP video gateway and Amulet™ IPTV receiver for their high-definition (HD) IPTV service launch.

Founded in 1950, SCRTC is a regional telecommunications provider covering nine counties within South Central Kentucky, including: Barren, Hart, Metcalfe, Monroe, Larue, Adair, Green, Allen and Nelson. With headquarters in Glasgow and a branch office in Munfordville, this member owned cooperative has developed into an integrated communications provider offering reliable full-feature Telephone, Digital High-Definition Television and Broadband Internet as its core services to over 30,000 residential and business customers.

“We needed a field-proven whole-home IPTV solution that would allow us to deliver integrated broadband services and advanced video applications without having to rewire our subscriber’s home,” explained Max Phipps, General Manager at SCRTC. “The economic advantages of Hydra made Entone a clear choice. Entone products will enable us to offer innovative and compelling IP-based services to our growing customer base.”

As part of Entone’s Hybrid TV family of products, the Hydra IP video gateway and Amulet IPTV receiver integrate patent-pending media routing technologies that enable the delivery of live broadcast television and rich media services throughout a subscriber’s home without requiring new wiring or a set-top box at each TV set.

“We are pleased to be adding South Central to our prestigious list of more than 100 operators deployed with Entone,” said Steve McKay, CEO of Entone. “We are excited to be collaborating with the SCRTC team and we look forward to supporting their IPTV rollout.”
