Trade Show Announces Keynote Speakers and Partnership with CoFesta

TOKYO — The CEATEC JAPAN Organizing Committee announced the keynote lineup for CEATEC JAPAN 2007, one of the world’s leading, comprehensive exhibitions of cutting-edge information technology (IT) and electronics technologies, scheduled to be held Oct. 2-6 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo, Japan. Featuring more than 500 companies and organizations, CEATEC JAPAN serves as the forbearer to many U.S. technology trends and trade shows. CEATEC JAPAN is also proud to have been named an official event of the Japan International Contents Festival 2007 (CoFesta), and through its Digital Contents Pavilion, will offer an organic link between content, hardware and software companies. Visitors can witness industry and market trends in the IT and electronics fields, which are changing at breakneck speed owing to rapid advances in digital technologies. Visitors will also encounter new business, social and lifestyle changes — as well as newly-created industries and markets — all brought about by digital convergence.

CEATEC JAPAN will feature some 20 keynote speakers from industry-leading companies, including Katsuhiko Machida (Chairman and CEO, Sharp Corporation), Kaoru Yano (President, NEC Corporation) and Shigefumi Wada (President, OBIC Business Consultants Co., Ltd.). In addition, this year’s show will offer 150 sessions and technical programs plus displays of new achievements and products in highly topical technology fields. CEATEC JAPAN, themed Experience the Frontline of Digital Convergence, will be divided into two distinct stages. The Digital Network Stage provides an arena for end products and services for consumers and businesses, while the Electronic Components and Devices & Industrial Equipment Stage largely highlights components and production techniques zoned by products and services. With its easy-to-read display panels introducing exhibitors’ products, the Must-See Item Navigation corner will allow visitors to quickly identify various attractions around the Electronic Components, Devices and Manufacturing Equipment Stage. In addition, CEATEC JAPAN will unveil two special exhibits: the newly-established Digital Contents Pavilion, which underlines the diversity and direction of Japan’s digital contents industry, and the Automotive Pavilion, where visitors may see numerous examples of the convergence of automotive and electronics technologies.

CoFesta, a 40 day, content-rich festival, brings together talent and software from a wide range of gaming, animation, comics, films and broadcasting, and allows CEATEC JAPAN to demonstrate its increased efforts to provide global opportunities related to software and content. Sponsored by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), Communications and Information network Association of Japan (CIAJ) and Computer Software Association of Japan (CSAJ), the show expects approximately 200,000 visitors in attendance.

In order to provide a seamless show experience for media, CEATEC JAPAN has recently implemented new services including press credentialing prior to the show’s commencement. All U.S. journalists may now utilize online media pre-registration. While press members may pre-register through September 21, on-site registrations will be accepted at the recently-updated Nissan CEATEC Press Center, located on the 2nd floor of the International Conference Hall at Makajuri Messe from Oct. 2-6.
