Humax to supply Turkey’s largest satellite broadcasting operator Dogan TV $30 million worth of set-top boxes from this month to end of 2007
In strategic partnership with Dogan TV, Humax also plans to supply HD set-top boxes

Global digital consumer products company Humax announced today its entry into the broadcasting operations market in Turkey. Humax will be the first set-top box manufacturer to do so.

The exclusive $30 million contract was executed today with Dogan TV, Turkey’s largest satellite broadcasting operator. With the contract, Humax will begin supplying set-top boxes from end of this month to the end of the year.

The set-top boxes, developed exclusively by Humax, are SD format set-top boxes compatible with Dogan TV’s broadcasting and to be directly purchased by the satellite broadcasting operator. BEKO, a local consumer products distributor, as well as other distributors, will take part in distributing the products to local consumers.

“This supply contract with Dogan TV will enable us to create a future strategic partnership to distribute HD set-top boxes and an array of other products to the market,” said Dae Gyu Byun, the chief executive officer of Humax about the deal.
