Amino Communications (AIM: AMO), the world leading developer of pure IPTV and hybrid/OTT devices and solutions, will give a US debut to its next generation IPTV set-top boxes and introduce a new look hybrid/OTT media centre and user interface at TelcoTV 2010 in Las Vegas next month.

Visitors to Amino’s booth – #431 at the Venetian Hotel and Casino from 10-11 November – will be able to see the full range of the latest IPTV set-top boxes running on a variety of middleware – showcasing both Amino’s powerful new offering and extensive ecosystem in the US market. Plus, there will be an opportunity to see the new-look Amino Freedom – including a new user-interface to be showcased for the first time in the US.

The new IPTV devices combine Amino’s award-winning stylish design with the latest SoC (system on chip) technology to enable network operators and hospitality providers to deliver the very best in entertainment services.

The new range includes:

  • The Amino A129: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standard definition IP STB for entry level deployments
  • The Amino A140: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 high definition IP STB in a compact case
  • The Amino A540 PVR: a HD high performance STB with integral PVR
  • The Amino H140: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 high definition IP STB for the hospitality market

The Intel®-powered Amino Freedom hybrid/OTT media centre will run a range of “hands-on” demonstrations capturing the powerful device’s ability to deliver broadcast TV, Video-on-Demand, home media and OTT content, plus new user interfaces, gaming and applications.

The Amino Freedom features the Intel® Atom™ processor CE4100 and has been specially designed to help meet growing consumer demand for TV-based “Over-The-Top” (OTT) video entertainment. Powered by the first generation of Intel Corp. and Nokia’s MeeGo™ for the TV, the powerful device has been designed to support common Internet formats such as Adobe® Flash and Microsoft Silverlight.

Amino Chief Executive Officer Andrew Burke said: “The US IPTV market is dynamic and demanding – and we continue to innovate to ensure we deliver the products and services our customers need to maintain their competitive edge. Our next generation IPTV devices are designed to deliver high quality performance which, when combined with our extensive partner ecosystem, provides customers with a powerful offering.

“With OTT being a key theme of the show we’re also showcasing our Amino Freedom hybrid/OTT media centre. We showed a prototype at last year’s show which drew enormous interest and we’re delighted to bring the commercial product here this year with a range of improvements including our dynamic new user interface. We look forward to showcasing these exciting developments at what is a key show in the North American market.”

Andrew will also join a panel discussion “Taking Advantage of OTT Opportunities” in the TelcoTV Conference Hall at 3:45pm on Wednesday 10 November.
