— Alcatel-Lucent (Paris and NYSE: ALU) has been selected by Palmetto Rural Telephone Cooperative (PRTC) – the Walterboro, South Carolina-based telephone cooperative – to provide advanced IPTV-based video services to its customers
— PRTC is deploying Alcatel-Lucent’s “starter pack” end-to-end IPTV solution, based on the Microsoft® Mediaroom™ 2.0 software platform, created specifically for the regional service provider market
— With Alcatel-Lucent’s solution, PRTC can support additional subscribers and offer a whole new viewing experience, including services such as whole-home DVR, caller ID over the TV, and remote DVR
