CUPERTINO, CA — Entone, Inc., a leading provider of Hybrid TV solutions, announced today that its Kamai™ Hybrid OTT Receiver has been chosen by GO p.l.c. for its nationwide IPTV and interactive online (OTT) deployment.
GO is Malta’s first quadruple play operator that offers a truly integrated telecommunications solution – from fixed line telephony, mobile telephony, broadband Internet services, and digital television, to enterprise services such as data networking solutions, business IP services, as well as managed and co-location facilities. As Malta’s leading provider of telecommunications services for over 36 years, GO is committed to providing cutting-edge solutions to its expanding national footprint.
“We needed a reliable and flexible platform for delivering high-quality video services while enabling us to expand our service offering to include high-definition (HD) TV, recording and Web applications,” comments Kelvin Camenzuli, senior manager at GO. “Because Entone’s Kamai is fully integrated with our interactive tv existing middleware and DRM (digital rights management) system, we can instantly introduce further new services without costly equipment replacement or having to disturb our customers.”
Kamai makes installation and setup hassle-free. It easily integrates with existing home networks and broadband services via its integrated Ethernet or (optional) Wi-Fi connection. Kamai’s USB port offers service providers the flexibility to deploy digital video recorder (DVR) services while providing subscribers convenient storage options without additional truck rolls.
As the latest addition to Entone’s family of Hybrid TV devices, Kamai enables operators to deliver a TV service that brings together the best of traditional linear TV programming with innovative cloud-based media and applications – all from a single device, a consistent user interface and a unified service offering.
“We commend GO for the vision and drive behind their aggressive plans for deploying a compelling video service offering,” states Bart Vanderostyne, Entone’s Director of EMEA Sales and Operations. “We are pleased to partner with GO as they continue to accelerate their IPTV deployment and look forward to supporting them as they rollout other new emerging services to their growing subscriber base.”
