Thursday, August 16th, 2007

BEIJING, China — Legend Silicon Corporation (LS), a leading supplier of silicon solutions and products for GB20600-2006, the mandatory standard for China DTTB (Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting), and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN), the global leader in silicon solutions for wireless communications, today announced that the two companies will form a strategic technology engagement to develop custom DTTB solutions for PMP (Portable Media Player) devices.

The solutions created by the two companies will combine the LGS-8934 demodulator chip for GB20600-2006 from LS with the high-performance DM-270 application processors from TI. They will be capable of supporting the major PMP devices that provide easy access to a rich array of digital media applications and services to the consumer.

The collaboration between LS and TI will enable PMP manufacturers to deliver a variety of content-rich mobile entertainment and multimedia experiences that are increasingly in demand in the Chinese market. LS’s leadership in GB20600 demodulator semiconductor products for mobile digital terrestrial reception of high definition, standard definition and other multimedia-based services, combined with the cutting-edge multimedia performance enabled by TI’s TMS320DM270ZHK processors, will continue to push the performance boundaries of mobile devices and mobile entertainment features.

The joint solutions will also benefit from the LS’s field testing program in multiple cities in China. This program is one of the industry’s most extensive interoperability testing processes, guaranteeing full compliance with operator requirements, speeding up time to market and enabling an easy roll-out of products in the market.

“It is a tribute to the collaborative relationship between LS and TI that we can tap into and combine each company’s unique expertise in order to deliver the most timely, targeted solutions to the market,” Richard Gian, Business Development Manager of TI Asia Digital Entertainment Product Group said.

“TI’s broad, proven product portfolio and advanced manufacturing capabilities have continued to adjust to the demanding requirements of DTTB’s customer base. We believe that today’s announcement will build on what TI can bring to DTTB in China and what both companies together can bring to this vital, dynamic industry,” he reiterated.

Stephen Wang, Sales Director of LS said: “LS is clear in its commitment to design and to offer a portfolio of flexible, innovative GB20600 demodulator products for the rapidly evolving mobile device market. We are pleased to work closely with TI to combine the finest of each company’s core know-how in order to provide the most capable PMP platforms for China DTTB on the market today.”

The result of the joint effort will bring an evolving portfolio of mobile technology platforms with China DTTB support to the market in China. These solutions will provide OEMs the ability to differentiate their products through competitive solutions for receiving digital terrestrial television broadcast; enables manufacturers to rapidly bring highly advanced and competitively priced products to market; and operators with a robust and flexible architecture for applications and services deployment, enabling easier delivery and management.

PMP devices based on these solutions are expected to be available on the market in the second half of 2007.
