Newport Media Achieves Key Milestone of 50 Million Broadcast TV ICs Shipped Worldwide

LAKE FOREST, Calif. — Newport Media, an innovative fabless communications semiconductor company supplying products to the broadcast media industry, today announced it has reached a key milestone in company history with cumulative shipments of more than 50 million complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) SoCs that address multiple global standards for broadcast Mobile TV.
With the industry’s broadest portfolio of Mobile TV SoCs, Newport Media is experiencing rapid growth in demand for its CMOS SoC solutions which integrates RF TV Tuner, OFDM /Analog demodulation and hardware based H.264 audio/video decoding functions. The company’s offerings include products that support Analog TV, the ISDB-T standard in Japan and Latin America, and CMMB mobile DTV standards in China.
