ACCESS’ DLNA Technology Component™ integrated into Vestel multiscreen media sharing TVs

OBERHAUSEN, Germany — ACCESS CO., LTD today announced that it is working with Vestel, a leading OEM and ODM in the consumer electronics and digital products markets, to provide consumers with rich media playback and enhanced content control features on their TVs and other home devices. Vestel has chosen to integrate ACCESS’ DLNA Technology Component™ solution, NetFront™ Living Connect, with its newly DLNA Certified® Digital Media Player (DMP) and Digital Media Renderer (DMR).

The new integration of NetFront Living Connect with Vestel’s DMP/DMR provides consumers with a number of exciting new features including the easy movement of content from secondary screens such as an iPad or mobile to the main TV screen. Consumers can now also benefit from media playback over the fast growing population of DLNA Certified® devices.

Vestel TVs can also be now combined with any DLNA Certified® controller application for example with ACCESS™ MediaPilot to enable the control of Vestel TVs from tablets and smartphones. ACCESS MediaPilot is a DLNA Certified® software solution based on NetFront Living Connect that enables consumers to seamlessly access, share and control digital media between devices connected to the home network.

“It is very important to us that we both simplify and enrich user experiences and the ACCESS solution has enabled us to do this by providing powerful yet consumer friendly media sharing for our TVs,” said Hakan Kutlu, Deputy General Manager, Vestel. “ACCESS has a deep-rooted heritage of delivering class leading multiscreen media sharing solutions, so it made sense for us to select NetFront Living Connect for integration with our products.”

“Vestel’s choice of NetFront Living Connect is further validation that our DLNA Technology Component solutions are the number one choice for device manufacturers serious about providing their customers with a real ‘connected’ experience,” said Dr. Neale Foster, VP of Global Sales IA, ACCESS. “Hundreds of consumer device manufacturers have standardized on DLNA as the way to help consumers connect and enjoy digital content within the home. It’s very encouraging to see one of the world’s largest producers of TVs committing to NetFront Living Connect to make the most of this opportunity and we look forward to consumers enjoying the benefits of our combined efforts.”
