Amino Communications, leaders in IPTV/OTT solutions, will demonstrate its Live media gateway at CES 2013 showcasing the device’s powerful combination of pay-TV security and exciting Android-based OTT content delivery.

Combining a secure Linux environment – for the delivery of payTV video via Amino’s proven Aminet software stack – and a controlled Android virtual machine to support a wide range of OTT applications and services, the device delivers seamless multi-screen distribution of content to TVs, smartphones and tablets around the home.

The Live media gateway is the first hybrid/OTT media gateway to be powered by the new Intel® Atom™ CE 5300 media processor. The device utilises the dual core processing power and impressive hardware virtualisation features available in the Intel CE5300 SoC to run multiple virtual machines at full speed.

The Live media gateway is already gaining market traction, with Amino announcing recently that a major European telecoms operator is to utilise the platform to rollout IPTV/OTT services.

Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: “CES is the ideal showcase for this exciting and innovative new product. We’ve already secured a significant contract for this device and we look forward to showing how operators can benefit from dramatically reduced development time and cost in deploying a multi-screen experience by leveraging the same app store environment across mobile, tablet and TV.”
