TivùSat reaches 1.8 million active smart cards

ROME — Italian satellite TV platform TivùSat has announced that it now has more than 1.8 million active smart cards in 1.5 million households, representing 5.96% of Italian families.
The regions with the highest penetration levels are Calabria, in which 12.67% of the families have chosen TivùSat, Liguria (11.95%), Molise (11.85%), Valle d’Aosta (10.45%), Basilicata (10.43%) and Sicily (8.83%).
The pay-as-you-go satellite platform, on Eutelsat at 13° East, offers 58 channels of TV and 44 of radio. Thirty-one set-top boxes have been certified for reception, including four HD receivers, and there are over 60 IDTVs compatible with the service.
