568,000 Saorview receivers sold in run-up to Ireland's digital TV switchover

According to Ireland’s Independent newspaper, 550,000 televisions were sold in the 18 months preceding the switch-off of the country’s analogue TV signal. 335,000 of the TVs had integrated tuners for reception of the replacement Saorview digital terrestrial TV service. A further 233,000 Saorview set-top boxes were sold, representing 70% of all set-top boxes sold during the period.
