Rostelecom chooses IPTV STB tender winners

Rostelecom («Ростелеком») has chosen five box manufacturers as a result of its IPTV set-top box tender. The companies are Promsvyaz («УЗ Промсвязь»), CompuTel («КомпьюТел»), SmartLabs («СмартЛабс»), Promzakaz («Промзаказ») and S&T International («ЭС и ТЭ ИнтернейшенÑл»).
Rostelecom intends to purchase 500,000 set-top boxes with an overall saving of 24% versus its existing contracts.
