NTT to show 4K internet streaming to a set-top box at IMC Tokyo 2013

NTT West has announced that at IMC Tokyo 2013 it will show live streaming of 4K video over the internet to a set-top box connected to a standard 4K TV. The demonstration will use High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC/H.265) compression.

The demonstration, the world’s first public trial of its kind, will be conducted in collaboration with NTT SmartConnect, NTT West’s web hosting subsidiary.
