(NYSE:DLB) announced that Samart, one of Thailand’s information and communication technology solutions and multimedia providers, has selected Dolby® Digital Plus™ as the sound technology for its second-generation digital terrestrial television (DVB-T2) set-top boxes. Using Dolby Digital Plus, Thai consumers will be able to experience high-definition digital television up to 7.1 channels of surround sound, designed to transform the way people can enjoy their favorite television programs.

Dolby Digital Plus has been adopted by the world’s leading TV and set-top box manufacturers, as well as broadcasters and operators, to provide consumers an HD-quality audio experience with full surround sound in a highly bandwidth-efficient single audio stream solution.
