TVersity selects AppCarousel to deliver HTML5 TV App platform via the Cloud

Cloud-based TV browser platform to leverage app ecosystem of 3rd party TV HTML5 apps

SAN FRANCISCO — AppCarousel, a leading provider of app store solutions and content ecosystem services, today announced that it has partnered with TVersity, a leading provider in media streaming solutions for Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (MVPDs) to deliver an HTML5 app platform via the cloud for set-top boxes and smart TVs.

By leveraging AppCarousel’s app ecosystem solutions, TVersity is able to avoid the many complexities associated with the management of developer programs and app stores, while being able to easily deploy high-quality apps to existing TV subscribers via any connected device anywhere.

The new platform will allow Multiple Systems Operators (MSOs) and smart TV vendors to benefit from significant cost savings by reducing set-top box costs as well as the need for additional hardware, all while future-proofing apps that may require additional processing capabilities.
